Robotic Partial Nephrectomy for Cancer of the Kidney

Partial Nephrectomy is when the surgeon removes the part of the kidney that has the cancer, leaving the rest of the kidney behind.

This is preferred for small or early cancers of the kidney, as it preserves kidney function. A Robotic Partial Nephrectomy allows this to be carried out with great precision, and allows the careful sewing up of the kidney to prevent bleeding.

For large cancers of the Kidney, The Robot may also be used to cary out Robotic Radical Nephrectomy. This is the complete removal of the entire kidney to cure localised Cancer of the Kidney
